Onmyodo no Sekai - Obake

It's your lucky day!!! More Onmyodo no Sekai art! (OnS is a project between and myself).
So this is a sneak peak at Obake, the independent oni hunter. I'm still tweaking the ideas around for his introduction. He will appear in chapter 2 so I don't want to give too much away. Basically a supporting character for now.

Obake - The general term for ghost in Japanese. Unlike in American and western culture, obake often appear in the hot summer months in old houses and odd places. With his white face paint and wild hair, Obake resembles a manifested spirit. Although not truely a ghost, Obake assumed this name because of his ability to see and fight demons, which he originally mistakens for spirits.

Watona - The name of Obake's face paint style, one of many designs used in kabuki.

Hair - It's actually a red wig that is also used in kabuki. [I couldn't find the official name for those kind of wigs.]

Mask - Obake sometimes wears a kitsune or fox mask as an added disguise.

Ok, so those are the elements of his character. I tried my best researching names and terms, but if I made a mistake or something doesn't sound right, please let me know ^_^;;;

Overall, I had a lot of fun designing this character. I have another picture of him coming soon but I want to start on the manga first.
